I have heard numerous interviews and speeches from the Former Police Commissioner, Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin. He seems to be very passionate about his ideas of what is right or wrong with the current government and their treatment of certain issues.
Well, in truth, I really should try not to beat around the bush. Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin quite openly declared that someone tipped off the former Tivoli strongman, Christopher “Dudus” Coke, about an extradition request sent out for him by the United States. On Wednesday June 30, 2010 during a television interview, the former Police Commissioner acknowledged his opinion to the nation. He said that Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke got word of the extradition request for him within 15 minutes after he advised Senator Dwight Nelson.
It is probably an understatement to say that several Government officials were not amused by the allegations of Rear Admiral Lewin. As a matter of fact Senator Dwight Nelson has clearly stated that if Lewin does not retract the statements he made, he would sue him.
In a statement made on Thursday July 1, 2010, Senator Dwight Nelson said “I reject and repudiate Mr Lewin’s insinuation that either the Prime Minister or I alerted Christopher Coke to the existence of an extradition request by the US authorities. The fact that Mr Lewin made no attempt to adduce any evidence to support his reckless statement raises questions as to his real motive, an issue for which he will be held to account”.
So the question begs to be asked, who is telling the truth? Is it Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin or the accused Government officials? What is your opinion? Have your say…
