Why attack JUTC buses?

August 4th, 2011

There have been numerous concerns raised over the frequent acts of vandalism against Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) buses. Since the beginning of this year alone, more than five buses have been damaged or attacked.  Why is this happening? No one seems to know.

Attacks on the state-owned buses have included stoning, gunshots and even arson, and the damage to these units sometimes takes millions of dollars to fix. Who ends up paying for all this? We do! Therefore, this situation concerns all of us and needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

The devil really does find work for idle hands, that’s what I believe, because what other reason do individuals have for vandalising JUTC buses?  Do you have any thoughts? Have your say…
