DRAG RACING: WILL WE SEE CURTIS WATSON’S R35 GTR AT VERNAMFIELD?

Author : cmunroe

I am still impressed with what was achieved by Curtis Watson’s R35 GTR at the GTR World Cup recently. As such whenever I find footage relating to the event, I am compelled to share. Jamaicans as I have stated are tenacious beings and we have an uncanny habit of excelling at whatever we chose to attempt.

AMS

In this video done by our neighbours 1320 video, three R35 GTRs, brimming with boost-induced awesome sauce, are the focus. Curtis Watson’s machine is one of the three.

And if that was not enough, mention is made of what the owner intends to accomplish with the machine which is laden with all the hybrid goodies that AMS could deliver, consistent with the machine’s class.

Did I say awesome sauce? Just in case you missed it the first time – awesome sauce! But, it gets interesting. The machine, at the GTR World Cup, was not driven by Curtis.

The pilot (the R35 GTR is not a car) was interviewed by 1320 video. The machine, propelled by a potent, Magic Bullet-blended concoction of exotic metals, pressurized air and an inflammable liquid, can rip 7 second passes rather nonchalantly.

Can the same be replicated on our holy concrete? Will we see Curtis Watson’s machine at Vernamfield in March? I am still calling Stephen Gunter!

AWESOME R35 GTRs

  1. Stephen Gunter says:

    Hi Cecil,

It is my understanding that the Curtis Watson GTR will compete at at least one more event in the USA before returning to Jamaica. Mr Watson would be in a better position to comment on his plans for the car.
