For the 12th consecutive year, our national airline, with all its struggles, has been named ”The Caribbean’s Leading Airline” in the World Travel Awards.
We as Jamaicans have consistently lived up to our second motto: “Wi likkle but wi tallawah” and Air Jamaica’s dominance as the Caribbean’s leading airline continues to showcase how we achieve under the toughest circumstances.
I love my Air Jamaica and I am proud.
It would be interesting to see what awards any of the airlines owned by Indigo Partners have received. The last one I saw was that their airline Spirit has the worst complaints among domestic US carriers per 1000 passengers.
Good job Air Jamaica. Your Love Bird service is always different from the rest, no matter how hard the market gets. I am proud of you. Good job.
Wi likkle but wi tallawah” and Air Jamaica’s dominance as the Caribbean’s leading, but yet still you want to sell the airline to someone who have nothing to do with Jamaica or Jamaicans. Let the pilots buy Air Jamaica and keep it in the country.
Everything we have or own in Jamaica we sell out to foreign companies. Next thing the island will be up for sale because that is all we have left if we sell out air jamaica.
We can win awards fine! But no financial discipline is leading us into ruin. Why is an airline so important, if it does make us financially better off?
I hope that the pilots can rescue Air Jamaica . The Pilots should be given first preference to buy Air Jamaica. Good Luck!
I think we as a people should be allowed to invest in the airline to keep it flying cause if we lose it we have lost our pride and joy.Lets do what we can to keep this precious treasure in the skies.1 love
Listen. As I said before . Those who are in charge of managing the airline, they just don’t care .. any thing in Jamaica that wear the government label… is abused my a few reckless people who don’t care about the viability of the entity… I am one person who believe in Air Jamaica and i know , given it the management it deserve .. it will not only survive but it will also make profits….
I Believe what is really important for the jamaican government who own the airline to realise, is the shear fact that when it comes to an airline with the countries name on it the airline is representing the pride of our nation. They sold out air jamaica’s plane spot at heathrow, and mr branson used that spot to put his barbados flight on. Air jamaica is no longer a transatlantic flyer to the UK. There are a load of british born and jamaican born jamaicans in the uk, and when they need top fly to jamaica, they have to take virgin Atlantic from gatwick, or do a transfer flight in the US etc. Now i understand that they cut off this major destination due to the fuelling costs to fly to the uk and back that were holding them down. They have inconvenienced a load of people. Not only jamaicans, but also anyone else who is looking to travel to jamaica as it once was. They must understand that regardless of cost, just having the airline flying into the uk not only takes passengers to jamaica, but also shows and represents the pride of the country itself!!!!
Congrats Air JA! Its extremely unfortunate that you were sold to the highest bidder like our forefathers did back in the days of slavery. Sold at a time when your productvity and efficiency level exceeded the equilibrium point (your income exceeded your expense)you returned a Profit! We as Jamaicans felt this enormous loss and saw the sale as an undeserving mother selling her child to a stranger because of hardship. But we are a resilient type of people and know the day will come when we will come to rescue you.
Hmmmm, could it be that the years of rampant mismanagement and abuse of funds have allowed the airline to run in a way as to diminish the profits and bring it into the red as it is now?
