Hi there fashionistas
Paris Fashion Week is known for its individualism, style and theatrics. As well as, garments with amazing detail, and intricacy filled with inspiration. The Paris catwalk for Fall 2009 did not fail to WOW us. But, it also showed us that many well known and celebrated designers have decided to return to the core of their brands.
Stella McCartney’s collection can be described as simplistic chic… She used a really simple colour palette to extraordinary effect… as shown by some very cute evening dresses.
Chanel presented a predominantly black and white collection that had some extremely dramatic pieces. They delivered with ease what we have come to expect from this amazing design house.
The 1950s was very evident in Christian Dior’s collection, which was sucessfully teamed with an oriental vibe. The opulence of some of the pieces were fantastic. Loved it!
Gaultier’s collection and whole set was filled with theatrics and fun. As expected the collection contained some extremely detailed, intricate pieces that were simply gorgeous.
Yves Saint Laurent’s collection was tremendous in so many ways… probably too many for me to count. Sexy black leather was worn with crisp white shirts and perfectly tailored suits. The combination of the sexiness and masculinity were almost indescribable… superb!!!
Special mention must go to Lanvin… I simply loved the bias cut dresses. Valenciaga and Dries Van Doten were fantastic … Louis Vuitton‘s tailored pieces and footwear were pure class… Celine’s collection was absolutely gorgeous as evidenced by their bold use of colour and structured pieces . Tres Fabulous!
The final mention goes to Alexander McQueen. His collection had no constraints. It was gothic with fetish influences … yet he still managed to deliver a strong environmentally friendly message. Philip Treacy’s headwear for the collection was ‘to die for’‘.
Okay fashionistas, you know the drill! Lets have your comments.
