Aretha’s hat creates fashion stir…

Do you remember Obama’s Inauguration Ceremony?  Well if you do then you’ll probably remember what our Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin was wearing on her head.  Her  hat was adorable – and I am sure I said so in my post that day (20-01-2009).

Over the past few weeks the hat has caused such a stir it is now probably going to find itself in the Smithsonian Institute – I kid you not.  Here is the latest on the hat!!!

Since then the designer has had more than 3,000 requests for copies of the swarovski crystal bow adorned woollen hat.

When I heard him on a BBC World Service report he could only be described as ecstatic!

Now the Smithsonian Institute wants to showcase the original piece and have made a requested to Aretha, who is reportedly thinking about it.

Now there is so much interest in the hat I know, I wouldn’t want it in my home… even with my amazing security system …lol…

What do you think of her hat ladies and gentlemen – is it gorgeous or is this just more  hype?
