51st Grammy Awards – Red Carpet Hits & Misses!!!

Did you see the 51st Grammy  Awards Ceremony? Well this fashionista did.   When it comes to the Grammys we expect to see hip hugging edgy dresses, bright & bold colours and rock & roll chic fashion. I’m sorry to say that’s not what we got for the most part. Yes! there were glimmers of gold, but on the most part it was bland and boring fashion. Here’s some of the best and worst.

Kim Kardashian looks picture perfect for the Grammys in her Toni Maticevski silver and white sassy but edgy dress. HIT! I suppose her escort Mario is trying with the co-ordinated scarf (Credit: Larry Busacca/Getty Images).

Letoya Luckett has it down! The fuchsia micro mini dress combined with the baby blue pumps and lots of bling looks amazing. This look is definitely ‘rock chic’. Love it! Thumbs up! (Credit: Danny Moloshok/Reuters).

Carrie Underwood’s figure hugging tulle slip gown by Zuhair Murad shimmered its way down the red carpet. She looks absolutely fabulous! HIT! (Credit: Larry Busacca/Getty Images).

Above we have two handsome men Samuel L Jackson (Credit: Chris Pizello/AP) and Sir Paul McCartney (Credit: Jason Merritt/Getty Images North America). Now the question I find myself asking is ‘Are they dressed age appropriately? To be honest i’m torn. They are going for that rocky casual look, that we associate with youth. But are they youthful? I suppose we could say your as young as you feel and they definitely are feeling young.

I find myself asking the same question here fashionista’s. Lisa Rinna is definitely a beautiful woman (Credit: Larry Busacca/Getty Images), but this look makes her look more las Vegas dancer than red carpet ready. Ladies lets try and age fashion forward but still look classy.

Now let’s take a look at some of those definite misses.

Okay Paula Abdul has issues. (Credit: Larry Busacca/Getty Images). We all know mirrors are for looking into but wearing them ….. no I’m not familiar with that as an end use. Definitely a fashion disaster. MISS! MISS! MISS!

I love Bai Ling’s sense of style. She has her own look, vibe and energy. Unfortunately it doesn’t usually translate to the red carpet very well. Sorry Bai the bow is a MISS! (Credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America).

Taylor Swift* and Miley Cyrus** are both young and gorgeous, will someone please tell me why they are dressed in these formal black gowns? Is it the goth look? No. Is it a funeral? No.  Girls enjoy your youth while you have it. Wear those fashion forward, age appropriate rock chic outfits while you can. Its a MISS! MIA, on the red carpet at the Grammys gets my special mention. No its not all fabric she really is pregnant! I know your wondering why she gets a special mention. Well its because all you mothers out there know when your pregnant it affects most of your bodily functions especially your brain ….lol… I think its quirky and individualistic but the only things that work are the yellow nail polish and bra.
