In this corner we have the challengers and in that corner we have the champions. I will let you decide which groups are in those respective corners.
In this writer’s humble opinion, it is the average Jamaican who suffers regardless of the outcome. If the public sector workers get their demands then the money has to come from somewhere.
Let’s just hope it’s not out of our pockets!
On the other hand, some might sympathize with the union’s positions. However, their actions can lead to loss of essential services. So who suffers? Again, we the consumers!
What do you think should be the best outcome of the current impasse between the Government and public sector unions?

I believe that the Government should pay them whatever it can afford and continue to pay as it become available!. There is no other choice unless if there will be layoff, and I am sure none of those teachers wanted to be sent home because the government cannot pay at this time . but will when the funds become available!
I believe the teachers and other public sector workers are shooting themselves in the foot if they decide to drag this out , and even worst if they would be so foolish to go on strike!..
There are thousands of foreign teachers who are better qualified than most of them who would love to come and work for free if they get accommodation and their food paid!.
The entire world is in a turmoil and these swivel servants need to be able to tell the difference from a robust economic climate from a downturn!.
Jamaica is sound asleep, or too busy watching movies, surfing the net on their BBs, while, like the Titanic, the country goes full speed ahead towards disaster. Those entrusted with the responsiblity to steer, do not care, and Jamaica is indeed in dire straits. The job being done over the past forty-nine years is past disgraceful, and the persons reponsible shows arrogance instead of remorse. They are indeed like Judas, but they refuse to do the honourable thing, as Judas did after he betrayed Christ. The Jamaican Politicians continue to prove that they are uncaring and totally out of touch with the concerns of the Jamaican people. The Jamaican politicians continue to embrace and implement policies that impoverish the masses, killing the spirit and dreams of the Jamaican people. At this point, it is fair to say Jamaica is literally brain-dead, and fit to be taken off life support. Wanna know how you can get a property that is valued at over J$80m to rent for a meagre sum of J$20,000 per month, and still not pay a cent ? You got to be a politician. Do you want to know how you can be lucky enough to get a job that pays you a multi-million dollar pay check, and still give u hundreds of thousands monthly to send your kids to school ? You got to be the friend of a politician. The Jamaican politicians are just playing us Jamaicans for the fools that we are, thriving in the bliss of our ignorance. Who to blame ? Ourselves. Questions are, when will enough eventually be enough, and what happens then ? Only time will tell.
