It’s a Shopping Affair!

So how do many persons plan to celebrate this summer? Why go shopping of course!

A variety of products are being offered by vendors who were even allowed to set up in the St. William Grant park in Downtown Kingston on July 25-27, 2012.

As the vendors relaxed with no restrictions they excitedly tried to persuade potential customers to part with as little as $100 to purchase small trinkets.

This was all organized as a part of ‘Downtown Sizzle’. Even surrounding stores got into the act by offering discounts on selected items.

Not to be outdone, tents on Devon House lawns on Waterloo Road, boasted a wide array of booths which housed various products including craft items.

So should you dig deep in your pockets for these fairs or avoid the rush?

Well, there is much to be said for the creativity of Jamaican businesses and there are a lot of innovative and original items that are sold at these fairs which would be difficult to find elsewhere.

So shop around and negotiate with the vendors for a fair price. Make sure you test the product before you leave as unlike a store the booth will not be around for you to get a refund. Also make sure that the items you buy are really what you need so no impulse buying!

Did you do any shopping at these summer fairs? Let me hear from you!
