Foodies delight in Restaurant Week!

Author : teriann

There are certain events on the calendar that I look forward to all year. I circle the date and meticulously mark off the days in a countdown until D-day arrives. The date I am looking forward to the most this year is November 11-19,2014. These dates signal the beginning of Restaurant Week.

The way I see it life is short and as my recent battle chikungunya virus taught me, it’s best to enjoy good health before it is viciously ripped away.

Anyway I digress, back to the matter at hand, why not enjoy the fruits of all your work? The bills are still going to be there when you return from a night out so why not live a little?

Budget Woes

Vegetarian Culinary Delights!

The problem with enjoying dining out and trying new dishes like the one pictured above, is the cost.

If you want to dine at certain eateries, it can cost between $4,000 – $7,000 per person. This can severely eat into the budget and those of us who have little breathing room, it might seem like dining out at four star restaurants is an impossible dream.

Restaurant Week Deals

I too have budget constraints but being a food connoisseur I have dedicated my life to tasting new and exciting delicacies.

Restaurant week is the perfect solution as they cater to various categories. The promotion has various categories: Nyam & Scram, Tasty, Savory, Delectable and Epicurean.

This promotion will encompass several prominent restaurants in Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.

The discounts range from 30% off in the Nyam & Scram category to $1,850 per meal in the Tasty Category. The price of each category includes a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert.

However, beverages, G.C.T and gratuity are at an additional cost. For a complete list of the participating restaurants check the website at www.go-jamaica.com/rw

My suggestion is to decide where you want to eat in advance and call ahead for reservations. I find that a number of restaurants are fully booked during this week so it makes sense to plan ahead if you want to enjoy all that Restaurant week has to offer.

So where will you be eating?

I have my top choices already so I will let you know about my experiences!

I will ‘eat, drink and celebrate’!
