How to Save money with Auto Discounts!

Author : teriann

Some time ago I informed my readers that I was deliberating on the purchase of a used or new car.

The discussion generated much interest as my readers were quick to point out that in purchasing an older or pre owned car, I might have some mechanical issues.

Other readers commented on the fact that cars devalue from the moment that you drive it off the lot.

They contend that many of the cars that are sold by private individuals are sometimes kept in better than those that are parked on the lot for an extended period of time.

There have also been recent reports of some car dealers selling cars that are not road worthy so as soon as they are driven off the lot they are essentially worthless.  In those cases, these dealers really harm their reputation as if they continue to sell these, ‘lemons’, word will travel and their profits will plummet.

The reality of the issue is that there is an inherent risk in buying vehicles as even if they were in good condition accidents can unexpectedly force you to make a trip to a repair shop.

Long term costs

I think  the most long term cost of any vehicle is maintenance. If your car needs repairs either through an accident or mechanical failure, this can incur a hefty cost.

In order to alleviate this, there has been a recent development that will prove beneficial to consumers.

The Jamaica Auto Directory will soon make available for consumers in February 2015, an automotive coupon magazine.  Consumers will be able to access approximately $1,000,000 in savings on goods and services from automotive sector businesses through their coupon book.

For example, one car repair and servicing company will offer up to 30% off selected auto repairs.  Some of these discounts are available now for use by consumers and can be found in The Sunday Gleaner dated December 21, 2015.

These coupons can be used up to June 30, 2015 and they cover selected auto diagnostic services and auto repairs.

That’s certainly good news for those of us in need of those services! I know I will be cutting out and saving those coupons!

How about you? Drop me a line to let me know!
