Gifts for under $300

It is a pain to buy gifts for the simple reason that I never know what to buy.  On the rare occasion when I do know what I want, the funds are not available to purchase it so I leave the store empty handed and frustrated.

“It’s the thought that counts.”  Often people use that saying to excuse giving gifts that are not very expensive as they encourage the person receiving the gift to reflect on the giver’s motives. Truthfully though most persons appreciate being given gifts, if it is really something they needed then certainly their enjoyment of the gift would increase.

Buying Gifts under $300.00

In this financial environment, buying gifts for others can prove to be a nightmare. However I have found that simpler is often better. For example are you buying a gift for someone who loves to read? Then visit a book store which specializes in used books such as The Readers Bookshop in Liguanea where you will find books which are priced at $100.00.

There are other options as well, such as making a basket filled with their favourite snack or sweet. The basket can be one you might have had at home and you could also be creative in finding material suitable for covering the gift. Don’t forget to buy or make a pretty bow.

I know a lot of girls who love lip gloss and hair accessories so why not combine a ‘gloss & shine’ package for the glamour girl in your life? Although name brand cosmetics can be expensive there are quite a few that can be purchased for half the cost and do the job just as well.

If you have a fashionista to shop for who refuses to use anything generic you could make fun gift cards that she can use. These handmade cards can make promises such as ‘ONE FREE DRINK’ redeemable after payday of course at their choice of restaurant or bar.

Let’s not forget the gentlemen in our lives, they deserve gifts too, so what about a gift of hosting a special games night just for them. You can use the $300.00 to purchase snacks and make your own dip for the chips. Invite his friends over and dedicate the entire night to serving them drinks and provide a setting of fun and relaxation while they watch a game on tv or play a few rounds of dominoes.
