New dining experience for Consumers!

Author : teriann

It’s a familiar scenario, you want to eat out but the options seemed limited and you feel as if you are stuck in repeatedly making the same choices and eating at the same places.

There are a variety of restaurants around Jamaica and food choices range from formal dining to street vendors.  Each dining experience though can despite its good food preparation, seem monotonous if the overall experience is the same.

Some restaurant owners do try different things to make the experience more enjoyable and a break from the routine.   One way they do this is by offering customers live music. Instead of listening to a recording, customers get to interact with a band of musicians and singers.

Other restaurants offer entertainment such as a DJ who provides an added flair to recorded songs or showcase poetry readings and other dramatic performances to enhance the dining experience.

Unique Dining Experience

Well there is another new type of dining experience that recently was offered to Jamaican consumers.  This experience is referred to as Diner en Blanc and it is sure to appeal to your sense of adventure.

This type of dining experience made famous by Francois Pasquier and his friends, is a pop up picnic at a secret location.

This means that you won’t know where you are going to eat!

Diner en Blanc

There are a few rules. Participants registered and paid online.

The best part is even after making these arrangements you still won’t  know where you are going! The location remains a secret until the last moment. The diners have their cars parked and they board buses to go to the location.

Those who participate have to wear all white and can pre-order food from a prepared menu or bring their own.  They also bring their own silverware.  After they have finished eating, they must pack up everything they brought with them to the venue.

It certainly is the first of its kind in Jamaica and it will be interesting to see how many persons participate and if the experience will be continued.  Regardless of the outcome, it certainly has a flair and boasts a different kind of dining experience for consumers.

Diner en Blanc is equal parts mystery and culinary delights!

So will you be at Diner en Blanc? Tell me all about your experience. It will be held on March 7, 2015, the location will be…your guess is as good as mine!
