Are Cornrows The Latest Rage?

Olga Kurylenko, the new Bond girl wore her hair in cornrows at the Tokyo Premiere of Quantum of Solace, this week.

The cornrow hairstyle was set off  by a very, very cute black satin ribbon.

I think it works.

Usually I’d say cornrows were far too street for a red carpet affair, BUT this is an exception and it most definitely works.

Why?  Well Olga and her stylist added a lot of glitz and glamour – that is why it worked.

If you still need more clarification Olga is wearing a gorgeous Chanel gown with an amazing pair of earrings!

Well done Olga this look is most definitely a HIT…

Someone that has a few lessons to learn from Olga is Nicole Richie.   She is pictured here with a cornrow up do that is just not inspiring anyone.

The first rule for women is never be pictured on the red carpet in a minimal amount of make-up.

If you are a celebrity it is important to remember that make-up is your BEST FRIEND.   Nicole seems to have forgotten that rule, she  does not have enough make-up on in the picture (right) which shows she is devoid of glitz .

The two cornrows are far too casual compared to Olga’s multi cornrows elegant look.

Where are the earrings?  OH No, NO, NOOOO… she’s not wearing any. Definitely no glamour or sophistication here, essentials for the red carpet
