Red Carpet Misses – Golden Globes 2009

OMG! Did you see the golden globes on Sunday?

The first real red carpet event of the year. No doubt like me you were glued to the television.

Well I’m out having drinks with the girls and you know we had to start off with who looked absolutely fabulous and who looked shall we say questionable …..

Lets begin with the ladies and guy that were definite misses. We are all in agreement here.

Renee Zellweger
Yep you’ve got a great body but this nude look organza gown by Carolina Herrere just isn’t working for you. I’m not even going to mention that dishevelled up do. My goodness! Definitely a thumbs down.

Marisa Tomei looks absolutely dreadful in this ‘gypsy-look’ ensemble. This is not a red carpet look by any stretch of the imagination.

Mickey Rourke looks awful in this  get-up with a sequined scarf, key chain and greasy locks – to top it off. Never thought I’d be saying something like that about the man that looked so amazing in Angel Heart. Disappointing!

Drew Barrymore had to go into this section not because of the dress its kinda cute but her hair.  What is with the peroxide blonde, voluminous bob … I dare you to say its not bad. Maybe she was going for the Marilyn Monroe look but it definitely has not worked.  Sorry Drew!

Christina Applegate looks fabulous from the waist up in her Roberto Cavalli gown & Lorraine Schwartz blinging necklace. Not feeling the bottom half, its far to cinderella.

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s animal print Lanvin gown is amazingly bad. Yes she likes to push the envelope and has her own edgy style. But this  gown is definitely a thumbs down. By the way whats that thing on her shoulder? $10 for the most imaginative answer! NOT…

Rachel Griffith’s sari or should I say toga inspired gown looks like a sack and does nothing for her figure. The fact it looks liked she slept in it and then forgot to have it steamed really isn’t helping.

Lets keep an eye on these gents and ladies and see how they progress through out the year on the red carpet. After all its the first event of the year, plenty of time for improvement.
