Love Bites

When was the last time you got a hickey? Or even saw somebody with one? It seems the little love bites have become extinct.
During high school it seemed the red mark, which was often placed strategically on a girl’s neck for all to see, was the topic of lunch conversations.

At these pow wows the girls who were brave enough to wear the marks as badges of honour, would discuss their make-out sessions.
Many were forced to hide theirs behind a Band-Aid, to escape any trouble with school officials, while others just wore the bandage to give the impression there was one there. The marks were so intriguing that girls pinched their skin repeatedly and so hard that they made their own hickeys.
But it wasn’t only for teenagers, adults were spotted with the marks too, teachers employed the same method of hiding the marks beneath bandages, the females used foundation and concealer to help in the deception.
But were the stuff a real sign of ‘love’ at all? For some it takes a whole lot of contact to make a mark, so much so it would make it more uncomfortable than pleasurable.
Maybe after all these years, these markings have gone into hiding because people have discovered that it really isn’t necessary to broadcast their dealings to the whole world.
Keep your love under wraps.

“Keep your love under wraps?” Well even if hickey did not mean true love, it shows other that the person with it is seeing someone.

The Ministry of health estimated in 2008 that about 25000 to 30000 people are HIV positive in Jamaica and about 12000 who do not know that they have it. HIV and STDs are not written on people’s foreheads. In addition when a man/woman has a woman/man it is not written on them and they will tell lies to get sexually involve with another person. It is even worse when they know that they have the HIV. Therefore any tags that can show women to keep away from polygamous relationships is an asset for Jamaicans who take life and sex seriously.

Monogamous relationship lower the risk of HIV and STDs. We all should appreciate anything and signs that show us that a person is sleeping with someone before you think whether or not to sleep with him. If you know now and decide to sleep with him anything you get take it. People must respect themselves and them body and use protection. I would not mind if everyone would tattoo their lover name on them . At least many would life longer and live free from diseases.

So lovers go right back to putting on those hickeys and expose them. Undercover love nuh wuk agan bcuse people are very lie, naieve and greedy. Even if you are gay put on the hickey and as it fade put on another one. Claim your lover.
