Restaurant Week – Are you going?

Author : teriann

So its here again! Restaurant week is November 9-17, 2012! I know some people have been counting the days for this weekend. Although it has been a rough couple of weeks since the passing of the hurricane, I think consumers need to relax in a comfortable environment as they try to deal with their stress.

It might seem as if spending money eating out goes contrary to my previous posts about saving money, but there is a significant difference. Saving money is important but during restaurant week consumers will save money as the same items being offered during Restaurant Week would have otherwise been sold at a higher price. In fact most dishes are accompanied by dessert and drink which would have been a separate cost.

Let’s face it, in this harsh financial environment eating out usually means a trip to a fast food restaurant. At one such common eatery, a typical meal costs between $500 – $700 and is not accompanied by dessert. The offerings at those fast food restaurants are usually something fried and so not the best choice for the health conscious.

So how much will it cost to enjoy restaurant week? There are various categories from which consumers can choose. They are Epicurean, Tasty, Nyam and Scram, Savoury, Delectable. The Nyam and Scram package can cost as little as $600 and in some cases includes appetizers. It does not matter how much you have to spend as you can find something that will fit your budget. There are over 75 restaurants to choose from in Kingston and Montego Bay.

A good way to incorporate a trip to a restaurant in your budget is to take advantage of these special discounts. These prices will go back up after Restaurant Week so it makes sense to take advantage of the lowered prices and try new dishes. Take some friends or family so you can enjoy the evening especially when you get the bill!OK

See you at restaurant week! Enjoy the food and the great price!
