This week’s main event is Restaurant Week and I have blogged before on the various categories from which consumers can choose. The Nyam and Scram is my favourite as it has lunch specials which tend to be a bit cheaper. Lunch is the one meal that most people buy and unfortunately we are usually faced with the same types of food. However, with Restaurant Week a number of restaurants have expanded their usual fare to give consumers a taste of the exotic.
One such restaurant is Triple T’z located at 26 Annette Crescent off Upper Waterloo Road in Kingston. Their typical menu consists of seafood and local dishes but for this special week they offer a wider range of menu options. I decided to choose from their special menu options with the hopes of trying a new dish.
They had a Nyam and Scram special as well as a specialty drinks that go along with their dinner. The lunch menu has what is called ‘Percy and Billy Special’ which costs $750.00. It includes chicken soup, honey roasted chicken with home grown curried goat served with white rice or rice and peas, tossed salad and Vanny’s bread pudding. The honey roasted chicken was divine and the succulent goat melts in the mouth. I enjoyed the soup as it was neither too peppery or salty. All in all it was value for my money.
What about those sea loving consumers who want to go even further down the culinary path? Well for only $970.00 they can enjoy a ‘Seafood Combo’. This discounted meal offers a seafood soup with your choice of fish fillet or garlic shrimp or curried lobster which is served with baked potato or Spanish Rice, fresh vegetables and Vanny’s homemade bread pudding. Several cakes such as carrot are on display in the restaurant and they boast discounts only for this week.
Consumers surely should try to expand their palate and find other dishes that they would not necessarily have been able to afford if not for this week’s specials. I am next going to head out to other restaurants to see what they have to offer during this week. Let me hear about your Restaurant week experiences! Until then Bon Appetit or Enjoy Your Meal!
