Remember the days when a cellular phone was so huge it looked as if you were talking into a radio?
In fact, they are fondly referred to as ‘fridges’ because of their unwieldy size.
Back then, the sole function of those phones were to stay in contact while on the road as they were only used for making calls. These phones were mostly used by businessmen who used them as status symbols as they were an expensive accessory.
Times have certainly changed as phones have become more accessible and affordable. Their functions have also changed as you can now use your cell phone to take pictures, make videos, watch television and surf the Internet. Everyone has a phone in Jamaica from students to vendors.
There are also many different types of phones available on the market. After you have bought the latest version, very often a newer version is introduced with more features. Phones still have a status symbol attached to them as those carrying around ‘peanut’ phones with no internet capability are often mocked by others has having a ‘worthless’ phone. One of the most popular types of phones in Jamaica is the Blackberry.
Recently, a brand new version of Blackberry, the Blackberry Z10 was introduced to Jamaica. This phone has been described as being way ahead of its competitors.

So does it measure up?
Features of Phone
There best feature on the phone, in my opinion, is a camera option that allows you to manipulate the picture by ‘ rewinding’ the frame so as to capture the best shot. The phone also allows its users to switch from BBM chat to BBM video which takes the phone to a whole new level. I also like the ease at which the phone is navigated with the user friendly touch screen.
Of course the price of this new phone might be the only drawback. The cost for the phone ranges from $74,000 to $78,000. However, if you are willing to sacrifice it all in the name of technology then this is the phone for you!
So will you be getting a Blackberry Z10?
