7 Tips on enjoying your Shopping experience

Author : teriann

In this day and age, shopping has become a terrible experience for some consumers. They are seen pushing trolleys furiously through the aisles and examining prices on products with a pained expression on their faces.

This is because shopping for items you want but can no longer afford is a very frustrating experience. It is even worse to think that you can afford them only to have to leave them in the shopping cart due to insufficient funds.

It is rare to see happy shoppers, unless there is an advertised special discount on selected items.

The free samples offered in some supermarkets might also momentarily erase the negative feelings of some consumers but by the time they get to the cash register gloom sets in once again.

So is there any way to improve the shopping experience?

Well in the long term, lower prices would definitely alleviate the problems faced by many consumers, but what can be done to fix the problem now?

Here are seven tips that I have found that helps in making the experience more enjoyable.

  • Plan ahead (Check which stores offer the lowest prices)
  • Make a list (When making the list make sure to stick to your budget)
  • Choose the best day to shop. (Some supermarkets offer discounts on selected days for various groups such as public sector workers or seniors)
  • Buy in bulk
  • Check out supermarkets which have wider aisles and more variety of items.
  • Do not shop when hungry (it makes you irritable).
  • Avoid shopping on Friday evenings or any other rush hour as long wait times to cash can make the process very time consuming.

If you follow these tips then I am sure you will enjoy your shopping trip!

How do you feel about shopping?  What do you do to enjoy your shopping experience?

Let me hear from you!
