7 tips for buying gifts on a budget!

Author : teriann

Things are expensive and it’s certainly easier to just say, “No money so no gifts this year.” Realistically though there are going to be times when you need to show appreciation to someone who has touched your life in some way.

The month of May contains several special days that you might want to celebrate despite your financial status. One of these days is Teachers’ Day and just in case you forgot more than likely you have a young child saying, “Mom you have to give me something to give teacher.”

Children are not caught up in the performance pay debate, all they know is that this person who they spend the majority of their day with needs to be shown appreciation.

So here are a few tips to making sure to get gifts for everyone on your list while still staying in the budget.

1. Be Creative The best gifts are those you can make yourself with just a few materials. Children can make pencil holders or pencil cases for their teachers while mothers might enjoy home spa treatments.

2. Recycle Perhaps you can save yourself the cost of gift bags if you have some in good condition.

3. Shop Online There are a lot of good deals online if you search and you are sure to find something that will match your budget.

4. Do some research A little research on the person who is receiving the gift goes a long way in discovering what that person needs.

5. Invest in gift certificates Gift Certificates can be purchased for a variety of services and can be tailored to suit your budget.

6. Check out sales Recently Courts had an appliance event where customers were able to purchase various appliances at reduced prices. Keep up to date with other sales in the area.

7. Gift Pool Okay so there is really no expression called ‘gift pool’. What this means is that if you pool your resources then you can afford to buy something great for that special person!

How do you stay on budget when buying gifts? Let me hear from you!
