Not all companies have heeded the call to lessen the burden of consumers. In fact, some continue to add to their already heavy load by raising their prices.
The Cement Company Limited made their stance clear when they decided not to roll back their recent price increase despite public pressure.
In an article published by The Gleaner on June 30, 2010, they stated that they were willing to lose market share rather than reduce their prices. This recent 3.2 percent increase is the company’s third increase in the last seven months. So why was this ‘hard’ stance taken by the company?
Well, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they have few fears that anyone will challenge their market so as to significantly affect their profits. What is your view?

thats because they know they will get away with it the minister will blow alot of hot air and no follw up we suffer and pay the price
We as consumers always pay the price Rob, the burden falls on us.
Well let them continue to fool themselves!. I will be coming to challenge them. and they will see how they will loose big time market share!.. and there is nothing they can do.
there is a saying goes like this” COW DON’T KNOW THE USE OF ITS TAIL UNTIL FLIES EAT IT OFF!.. SO IS THE CEMENT COMPANY WITH ITS CUSTOMERS !… I urge them to just wait a bit!.

Competition Sheri, that always embolden consumer. The opportunity of choice, this always make the producer be mindful.
Why is it that BOB has the answer to everthing and solution to nothing, or do you need to meet with the Minister on this one too…cho man too much foolishness…you have a New cement factory you a built too for price competition
Competition !!! They need competition !!! It is Econ 101. Supply and demand. Too bad no one is giving them competition.
