Have you paid your property taxes?
Author : teriannMany people dream of owning their own home. Of course that comes with mortgage payments and let’s not forget property tax!
So let’s set the record straight why do we have to pay to live on our own land?
Let’s not forget, property tax allows the Government to take care of the needs of its citizens, such as garbage collection, street lights and road repair.
The Government is cracking down on those who have been negligent in this regard by threatening legal action.
The deadline for payment for property tax is April 1, 2011.
Make sure that you are not caught ‘an April’s fool’! Pay your property taxes on time!

of course i pay my property taxes! sometimes i pay for the 2 years at a time since my taxes are only 1,000 ja a year which to me is a far cry from the 2,500 usd my uncle pays in the usa so i do not commplain!
I believe more Jcans would be compliant if taxes were appropriated to their designated employment; maintenance of roads, lights and garbage collection intead of ending up in the conslidated funds (also known as the pork barrel)

I live overseas and im a home owner in Jamaica…only $4,000jmd a year for taxes…that is A JOKE compared to the $2,800cad that I pay per year in Canada.
I cant believe people in JA complain about the HIGH cost of property taxes, well not just property taxes…
