Are you sure that you are getting a bargain?

Author : teriann

You know that Christmas is in the air when you see the stores start advertising  reduced rates for their products.

Massive sale usually translates to trying to get rid off old stock before the Christmas rush.

The advertisers step up this time of year as they compete to get your attention.  Sometimes the advertisement uses the words, ‘starting from’ and lists a relatively low price.

The glossy pictures in the brochures and in newspapers entice the eye, some offering easy payment plans and promise never before seen savings.

So how do you know if you should go shopping or save your money?  Well here are a few questions to ask before you pay.

  1. Do you really need the item? (No sale is worth it if the item is unnecessary)
  2. What was the original price of the item?
  3. What percentage are you getting off the item?
  4. How much is the item sold for in other stores?

So be careful but enjoy the sales! You might get your shopping done early this year!

  1. Great post! Many holiday shoppers are not aware of the tactics used by shops and stores to move their stock ahead of the season. I believe online shopping numbers will also be up this Christmas, now that almost everyone is toting a Scotiabank visa debit.

Thanks Donald, online shopping has become popular recently but consumers must check for hidden fees.
