Is the new Lime offer of 4G enough to lure customers?

Author : teriann

Since Claro is now officially defunct there are a lot of customers who are now forced to switch to a new network. They now have only two choices, Lime or Digicel. As both telecommunication companies want the most customers they have unfolded various campaigns in the media.

Recently Lime has rolled out plans for 4G experience on selected phones effective on March 12, 2012.

Will this excite consumers enough for them to make the switch? The people I asked about it said that faster and clearer connections will make them consider switching. However, there are complaints that Lime has limited their package to selected locations in Kingston and Montego Bay.

I understand the strategy as these areas are more corporate however, it seems everyone in Jamaica has a cell phone form the market vendor to the fisherman. Therefore it would be a good idea to extend the reach island-wide so as to include everyone in the new 4G experience.

The phones that will be 4G-compatible include the Samsung Galaxy SII, BlackBerry Bold 9900, the Apple IPhone 4S, and the Huawei Mifi E586. I hope that other phones will follow and everyone will benefit. What do you think about this new offer? Let me hear from you!
