Formula 1: Alonso seeks second win in Germany

I just returned from an invigorating blast in a preferred machine. It is somewhat difficult to transfer feelings to letters and words, but, what I experienced a few ticks ago, was intoxicating, to say the least! I am sorry I can’t tell you which machine and where, but I will be able to do so, in days to come.

Last weekend, the MotoGP boys rode through Germany and the thousands who turned out were feted with spectacular races. The lad who came up with the concept of the photo-finish, possibly thought that indecision, when determining the race winner, was history. Tell that to the 125cc combatants who fought tirelessly for the champagne last week. There was nothing between the top two when they crossed the line.

This weekend it is F1’s turn. The fastest motorsports show on Earth will downshift in Germany. MotoGP blazed a blistering trail, but F1 should have no difficulty keeping pace.

There are six Germans on the 2011 F1 grid, so the fans will pour into the Nurburgring countryside like milk into a cornflakes filled bowl. As I type, I am watching SPEEDTV’s coverage of the second practice session. Despite the fact that all cards are not revealed during practice, it would appear as if Ferrari found more than a bit of luck at the British GP. At Silverstone, Alonso locked horns with the Bull, wrestled it and successfully castrated it!

Based on the practice time sheet thus far, Alonso and Ferrari are still riding high. The psychological advantage is definitely smiling with Alonso, as he chases his second win. Alonso won the 2010 German GP. Will he be able to lasso the Bull and win this time around?
