Dover Raceway: The 2012 season begins in April

Author : cmunroe

Question – Is there anyone who does not look forward to the end of year celebrations?  Answer – Yes. Have a brief conversation with motor-racing fans and you may be surprised by what you hear. If information is a scarce commodity in your neck of the woods, you will be forgiven for your ignorance. But, my public service posture compels me to shed light on any foreseen darkness. So, that I shall do, without complaint.

The circuit racing season, on the local stage, runs out of fuel in October, afterwhich, grass and insects invade the track at Dover! Unfortunately for fans, the fender-bending and slicks-rubbing activities do not resume until April! Yes – April. A huge pill to swallow, but considering that our bank accounts are not being negatively affected while race-car owners and drivers prepare for their first competitive rev of the year in April, I will urge that the rebellion be postponed!

Fortunately, I have pictures of last October’s race-meet. This is where my countdown to April will begin.

Peter ‘Bull’ Thompson’s machine was still not back to winning ways.

Proof that you do not need 500hp to compete!

Additional proof.

Charles Maxwell’s machine. He is currently in search of a sponsor. If you want to be associated with a winner, here is an excellent opportunity.

Another Xavier Murray prepared machine.

I might have said it before, but repetition in this case, will not hurt – love this truck.

The countdown continues…………..
