Lewis Hamilton is obviously doing his best to hurl the frustrations associated with the 2011 F1 season far, very far, behind him. Plagued with myriad issues, including embarrassing personal drama, Lewis Hamilton, last season was a distant shadow of the brilliant, awe-inspiring, driver that many of us have grown to admire. What we expected of him last season, was not delivered and somehow Hamilton allowed himself to be buried in a landfill of question marks.
What a difference time makes! The 2012 season is now driving into its second race and if you were of the view that his performance at the Australian GP, where he stole pole, was a lightning strike and would only happen once, you would be in the mistaken column. The Mclaren overtaking machine (Hamilton), repeated the performance in Australia and in a breath-taking display, despite locking the Mclaren’s front wheel in the final sector, drove brilliantly and distanced himself from his peers. He secured his second consecutive pole. Now, that is how you start a season!

His teammate, Jenson Button, rides shotgun in second, reminding the grid that McLaren will be a force to reckon with for 2012. Multiple World Champion, Michael Schumacher, showing glimpses of his former spectacular self, sneaked into 3rd and we should expect something special from him in race trim. I will be glued to the TV, in the am, on Sunday. Who will win Round 2 in Malaysia?
