Formula 1: Who will win the 2012 World Championship?

Author : cmunroe

There are three races remaining in the 2012 season (Abu Dhabi, USA and Brazil) and unlike 2010, when he only led the championship at the final round, Vettel is front of the chasing pack heading into these races. The lead he has is a slim one. He has 240 points and his main rival Scuderia Ferrari’s Alonso, has 227 points. With this rather narrow points margin, there is no room for comfort or complacency at the Red Bull headquarters.

Ferrari

At the beginning of the 2012 season it was felt that Ferrari was competing with its worst effort to date. What Alonso has accomplished thus far with what was said to be the ‘ugliest Ferrari ever’ speaks volumes in terms of the repertoire of skills that Alonso brings to the table. The fact that he has managed to navigate the obstacle course and place himself in a position to topple the Bull is a major accomplishment for Alonso.

Alonso led the championship earlier, but apparently the sleeping giant , Vettel and his Red Bull army are now wide awake and aiming for the triple – three successive titles. Vettel won the most recent round in India while Alonso did what he has mastered this season – ride the Ferrari horse as if his career depended on it – and took second.

With the season coming to a close and only 13 points separating Vettel and Alonso – Who do you think will win the World Championship?
