Once the juggernaut which is F1 gets rolling, it is one continuous avalanche of glamor, fashion and speed, traversing countries and continents. We have not yet fully absorbed the events at the season opener in Australia and already we are a few corners away from another thrilling episode of the Bernie Show!
Lotus
Formula 1 is known for tradition and the permanent members of the ‘old boys’ club do not embrace change with a smiling countenance. At Albert Park (Round 1), Red Bull indicated during qualifying that they were ready to defend their titles, but I am certain they were not expecting Lotus to steal their thunder. McLaren is still looking for lost marbles and all things being equal, we will see at Round 2, how close or far they are from being serious contenders in the post-Hamilton era.
Ferrari, as one reader suggested, does not need to be concerned yet, as it is evident that the machine has good race-pace. But Kimi’s win, should not be a surprise. He has been knocking on the door from last season. We might be seeing the earliest signs yet of a team in ‘set’ mode, aiming for a championship.
Can Lotus deliver now that the spotlight is in their face? Will Kimi stun the grid again in Malaysia? Is it the Bull’s (Red Bull) race to win? Is it the horse’s (Ferrari) time to shine? The GP in Malaysia is hours away!
