Rally: Alan Chen and company grabbing ‘big air’! (Rally Jamaica-2013)

Circuit Racing

I am thankful I am not a member of the JRDC’s Technical Regulations Committee (TRC). The rules which will govern circuit racing events at Dover Raceway between 2014 and 2016, have been released. Apparently, a volcano has erupted somewhere in the circuit racing world and the pyroclastic flow has engulfed some individuals involved in circuit racing here on the ‘rock’! Several individuals are locked in a pointless battle, spitting fire and toxic fumes as they debate about motive and intent re the content of the new rules.

Reckless behaviour is now the only dish being served on the menu and to add insult to injury, individuals alleging to be executive members of the JRDC or members of the TRC, have adopted the same puerile, irresponsible stance. Here is advice, which may never be heeded but… – summon the members of the JRDC to a ‘sit-down’ and have a conversation with a view to answering the pertinent questions being raised. We have a tendency of forgetting that there can be no show and no club, without the drivers!

Drag Racing

The BadBreed Racecraft Mustang did not obliterate Dean Shaw’s record at Vernamfield last Sunday at the NDRC’s Drag Challenge #3. Dean Shaw has since regained his voice. He was a bit subdued after the Andre Anderson fracas and the BadBreed 8.9 seconds elapsed time at Drag Challenge’s Test and Tune. While he watched the festivities from the spectator box last Sunday, possibly he saw where he would be in with more than a fighting chance, if a race against the BadBreed Mustang became a reality.

Well, a match-up is being thrown about the internet – Dean Shaw’s Camaro vs Adrian’s BadBreed Mustang. But wait, isn’t the Camaro for sale?

Rally Jamaica 2013

This is the section which will be titled – Just in case you did not see. Rally Jamaica came and blew a few oranges off the resilient trees which occupy the Tru Juice lands in St Catherine. I saw Alan Chen’s machine at Knutsford Court Hotel a few hours before the official ceremony and being ’nuff’, I went and spoke to the ‘crew’. Alan Chen is one of those drivers who delivers more than his share of excitement when he competes and if dexterity or skill is demanded by the event, chances are he will shine among the brightest. Day 1 of Rally Jamaica was not very kind to Alan and Marcia (co-driver) though. But they returned and I was told that he brought his usual game.

So, just in case – (click below)

Alan Chen – lift-off!

Just a reminder – Much respect to all the teams who made it possible  – Big Up Jeffery Panton!
