Screaming Streets poised to scare Mobay! (Sprint)

I am a huge fan of Sprint events, so when I checked the 2014 Motorsports Calendar and saw – March 16 MBMC SPRINT (Tarmac) – I was beside myself with immeasurable joy! I did not require an invitation to begin the process of fine-tuning the logistics, a trip to our tourism-Mecca, demands.

I have fond memories of events at Mobay’s Monaco Grand Prix circuit – Ironshore. It is one of those locations which usually has some awesome machines on display. Mobay has some ‘sick’ machines! A few nail-biting championship battles involving for example, Jeffery Panton and Doug Gore rush to the fore, with Christopher ‘Teach‘ McFarlane or Dean Corrodus whipping up the crowd into an unrestricted frenzy.

I can recall a memorable moment several years ago when Doug ‘Hollywood‘ Gore was in his element – the real ‘Hollywood’! He completed a blistering run, in his then, not ATL affiliated, but still Unbeatable Evo and when he arrived at the left turn to the pit entrance, (the front of the Evo was at the entrance) while still on the track, he assaulted the accelerator, launched the machine into a violent, rapid, boost-molested 360 degree turn and as the rear of the machine was in the process of completing the circle, he braked. The machine stopped. The back of the bright, yellow and blue, Team Mobay Racing Evo was now in front of the entrance to the pit. ‘Hollywood’ then casually reversed into his pit bay. Imagine Sting 2013 at JamWorld when Supercat walked on stage – multiply the decibel level of the crowd response by 10 – that was how the crowd reacted after Hollywood’s mini-act!

The Montego Bay Motoring Club (MBMC) will coordinate all activities relating to the first event of the National Sprint Championship. Some names are arrived at arbitrarily, but I would argue that there must be some method to the madness which arrived at Screaming Streets! The Sprint event now known as Screaming Streets will rewrite the rules relating to speed, precision driving and handling prowess thanks to the Sprint warriors who will bring their A-machines and A+ game to Tarmac Hell – Ironshore, St. James!
