Driving the Evo VI 1/2

Part 3

The 6.5 is easy to drive despite its rally bred orientation. It is comfortable, powerful but predictable and it instills a level of confidence which is reassuring even for a thrill seeker. The section of roadway I chose for my brief shakedown has an abundant mix of straight sections, numerous corners with different entry and exit speeds and a few elevation changes along the way.

Heightened Driving Pleasure

On this section of roadway the 6.5 proved why it remains a highly sought after machine. The ‘point and squeeze’ nature of this car maximizes the excitement and enjoyment to be had from driving a performance car. It guarantees heightened driving pleasure. The sensations experienced as the car carries speed into and out of corners are electrifying, bordering on intoxicating. The 6.5 is fast, very fast and because it executes the driver’s requests with such assurance you may be misled into thinking that you are the best driver around, not realizing that the technology within the 6.5’s ECU resolved the problems you have created before they get the opportunity to manifest themselves!

Japanese Supercar

The 6.5 is a Japanese supercar, but with 4 doors and a trunk large enough to fit dozens of those large 50 lb. bags women carry around and have the nerve to call – ‘handbags’. This is an awesome car, one which roams the streets with 311 horses at the wheels (whp) and 286 lb ft of torque available immediately upon request (this 6.5 has minor modifications). I would be lying if I told you I had a good time during my quick blast. It would be more accurate to suggest that, I had a fantastic time behind the wheel of what is regarded as the best Evo of them all, the VI ½.

When I returned the car to my friend I had 2 complaints:
1. I do not own an Evo VI ½
2. I do not have 1.3 million (Ja) dollars to buy one. The car is for sale!
