Drag Racing: Mustang vs Camaro war at Drag Challenge# 4?

Author : cmunroe

The Nestle Supligen Drag Racing Series – Drag Challenge #4 is less than 2 weeks away. Fans of the sport have been pampered and feted thus far and at Drag Challenge #4 much of the same is expected. Competitors are in the final stages of their preparation and we are expecting packed classes and adequate portions of soul-soothing, smoky burnouts and blistering speeds along Vernamfield’s sacred concrete. We love drag racing and the NDRC has been doing a stellar job thus far in catering to our speed needs.

We attend these events because we endorse the culture. We advocate achieving incomprehensible speeds within a structured and appropriately managed environment and also simply because being present at the event compels our brain to issue commands, which when delivered and the results manifest themselves, we are left bewildered, drowning in a speed-initiated, ecstatic fury!

BadBreed

We crave a good battle and drag racing provides an unpredictable bout each time two meticulously prepared machines rev to take their positions at the ‘tree’. The previous rounds of the series have provided innumerable bouts, but we are yet to see what can only be described as – the main event! BadBreed Racecraft’s Ford Mustang emerged recently.

BadBreed Machine!

It broke cover after a decade in construction and from the first occasion it disturbed the concrete at Vernamfield, it was evident that it was no ordinary beast. In a room of monsters it is James P. ‘Sully’ Sullivan (Monsters Inc) – the King of the Hill – the Emperor! It has stirred new interest in the sport and its massive turbo which wears an ostentatious grin, pulls eager fans to the club like a gigantic industrial vacuum. It has appeal, it has an unavoidable presence and it supports all its hype with dragster-type speeds. Machine!

Dean Shaw

A few years ago, similar sentiments and statements were expressed and conveyed when Dean Shaw’s immaculate Camaro ignited fuel and air. We are products of Japanese machines and as such we have a tendency of frowning when American machines are discussed. But, true car-fanatics know a machine when they see or hear one and make no apology, Dean’s machine is absolutely that – Machine!

Dean Shaw’s Camaro – Machine!

Badbreed Racecraft’s Mustang has rewritten the door-slammer record book and I am certain Dean Shaw tosses and turns and night until he is awakened, frightened by a rapidly disappearing red blur and a sign hanging from a grotesque, dilapidated structure bearing the words – MUSTANG! Dean Shaw is a competitor. He is not known to be shy to express himself and bring his toys to the party. You might not appreciate his views but, his accomplishments are known and they speak to his commitment to various forms of motorsports.

So, I am convinced that Dean Shaw will not sit idly by and allow the Badbreed Mustang to rule the American-muscle war. I am hoping that we will finally witness much more than talk. I am sincerely hopeful that this debate will be elevated to the ultimate level – war on the drag strip! Will Dean Shaw challenge the BadBreed Racecraft Mustang at Drag Challenge #4?

Incidentally, I spoke to Stephen Gunter and he confirmed that Test and Tune is scheduled for this weekend! I spoke to a representative from the BadBreed camp, they will be at Test and Tune. Will Dean Shaw be present?
