Speedwest Weekend – Shellings!! (Part III)

Author : cmunroe

Speedwest Weekend was an embrace from a delightful tropical princess. Its warmth ignited a continuous yearning and gave birth to a desire which glows brighter than the lights at the National Stadium! When is the next edition? My colleague ‘Duct Tape’ will provide an appropriate response soon. Until then I will reminisce until I see her again!

If attitude was tangible it would resemble this snarling machine!

What is there not to love? DC5!

Suzuki, determined to honor its name – Swift!

Race on Sunday – collect chicks on Monday!

Cutta Hype was rocking this machine.

The MR2 that could – 10 seconds machine!

No – the anthem was not being played. The norm when the drag machines rolled out.

I am still of the view that to ride motorcycles in a manner consistent with their design, requires ‘steel units’ the size of genetically modified jackfruits! At Jamwest Speedway, caution remained in the paddock and the pack of riders, led by a fearless duo from Guyana, opened our eyes to MotoGP-type riding! I saw and heard the machines approaching corner at a pace that left no doubt in my mind that brains were absent from the helmets that sped past my vantage point!

I have said it before that words accept embarrassing incompetence when an attempt is made to describe the pulsating thrills the body undergoes when the eyes, mind, body and soul conspire, conceptualize and execute uber-therapuetic stimulation that a masseuse can only aspire to attain! Think of the most hair-raising thing you have ever done – the thing that discombobulates your emotional-being – the thing that breached your excitement-quota. Trust my judgement, when I convey that the display the riders conducted at Jamwest Speedway accomplished all of what you recalled on their first approach to corner 1!

Why Team Mobay had to snatch this machine?

Yes, I have heard it before. I am biased. But I wear no shame. Machine!
