Drag Racing: Dean Shaw silenced? Part 4 (Final)

Author : cmunroe

It is my view that Dean Shaw is misunderstood. He has an uncanny propensity to stir a massive pot of trouble, thanks to myriad rather reckless remarks or comments that he has made over time.  But he is an accomplished racer who has has made an indelible mark in both drag racing and circuit racing. And possibly his blind passion for motorsports causes him to speak from his lips and not from his brain.

Truth be told though, Dean Shaw was concerned about the outcome of the Camaro vs Mustang battle. It is also my view, that as a result of his words and deeds, Dean Shaw dug a rather deep hole for himself. But, I will argue that he should be commended for ‘putting his money where his mouth is’. He prepared and drove the supercharger off the machine, during qualifying and in the finals! Personally, I am thankful that he did not resort to the ‘imported driver’. Instead, he personally applied pedal to rather expensive metal and rocked the eight seconds boat!

Ovadose

And if he is indeed the author of the comments that appear, assigned to Ovadose and he actually spent a ‘pretty penny’ to have the machine sorted out inorder to transform its rodeo-ways and reclaim lost V8 doorslammer pride, he has achieved, yet again, on my scorecard. If we were to lay all the cards on the table and take into consideration the fact that his machine was completed a few days prior to Drag Challenge #2 and when it was brought to the track, it cracked eight seconds passes, it is only fair to give Dean Shaw credit for manhandling a new setup. He gave the ‘Red Donkey’ a thoroughbred’s race! The Camaro received the ‘goodies’ it desired and it has race-pace – interesting times are ahead on the 1320 ft!.

BadBreed Racecraft’s machine is simply that – MACHINE! And Adrian can relax in the glow of the accomplishments of the team – Nantwi, Barry and company. But, at Drag Challenge#2, Dean Shaw played a pivotal role in the titanic battle we witnessed. Stephen Gunter abandoned his luxury suite – the motor-home (bus) – to watch the race. It was that significant!

Humble Pie

In essence. Was Dean Shaw served Humble Pie at Drag Challenge #2? Yes. Did Dean Shaw have a rude awakening at Drag Challenge#2? Yes. Was Dean Shaw silenced at Drag Challenge#2? The jury is still deliberating! But, answer this pertinent question – Is it possible to silence Dean Shaw? We will not wait for that miracle!

However, we will await Rounds 2 and 3 of the Camaro vs Mustang battle!
