MotoGP: Lorenzo’s championship to lose?

Author : cmunroe

I am willing to bet that no MotoGP fan would have thought that after 11 rounds of bashing fairings, the World Championship would be so delicately poised. Like an oscillating fan, the championship remains engrossed in rotating momentum between MotoGP’s stalwarts.

Brno played host to the most recent  episode of knee-sliders and insane lean angles mayhem. And when the machines assembled for photographs in their podium stance, Jorge Lorenzo was the only rider beaming with rapturous delight. At Brno he demonstrated what makes him a force to reckon with at each circuit on the calendar. His display could be aptly described as aggravated assault! His teammate, Rossi and defending World Champion, Marquez, despite being on the front row, were never a threat to Lorenzo. Victor was stamped on his leathers once the red lights faded.

Rossi

With his unforgiving siege and subsequent win in Brno, Lorenzo has prepared a delectable treat for MotoGP fans. With his 5th victory of the season, there is nothing, literally, separating the Yamaha teammates in the World Championship. Lorenzo and Rossi are even at P1 with 211 points. Repsol Honda and Marquez missed the boat in the early rounds with their 2015 chassis and their errors will attract a hefty fine. Unlike F1 machines, MotoGP rockets are a model of reliability and the podium-gala retains Lorenzo and Rossi as if they are permanent fixtures!

The Spaniard (Lorenzo) was in rarefied air in Brno. With his 5th victory of the season, Lorenzo leads in the win column – Rossi – 3 (wins), Marquez – 3 and he has closed the gap to his teammate in the World Championship to zero! Seven promising rounds remain. The game has entered a new phase and a supremely confident player is on the field! Is it Lorenzo’s championship to lose?

Who will win the British GP on August 30th?
