FORMULA 1: WILL HAMILTON’S LUCK RETURN AT SUZUKA?

Author : cmunroe

Defending World Champion Lewis Hamilton knew what he an  had to do at the Malaysian GP to assist his mission of retaining his title. He adapted to his environment, captured pole and drove away when the red lights vaporized.

His teammate, Rosberg, had his own mandate with a single objective – extend the points-lead! Despite not qualifying P1, Rosberg was fully aware that his goal was within his grasp. I am certain his view took an obscure turn when his machine was forced to examine the circuit in reverse. Vettel’s impatience sent Rosberg’s machine into a spin dance.

Rosberg did not succumb though. He went into the determination bag and rescued an impressive P3 from the jaws of certain defeat. Hamilton led and  for the most part, drove without significant opposition. He was on his mission and without Rosberg nibbling at his rear wheel, comfort was his comrade. But motorsports has an inherent unpredictability which would haunt a betting man.

MERCEDES AMG

Hamilton, according to his race-engineer was doing exactly what was required to bring the machine home P1, but Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 did not communicate effectively with the machine’s engine and explain what was required in Malaysia.

Hamilton’s mission became impossible in abrupt fashion. His forward motion was retarded when his machine adopted flame throwing capabilities! Hamilton’s emotional pleas can still be heard. When Hamilton failed to reap a substantial points-haul, Rosberg’s fortunes multiplied tenfold.

Hamilton’s comments after his machine retired, fed the conspiracy flame, but, he collected himself later and then sung the professional song. It appears as if the team understood his pain and as such the same common purpose was not affected at Mercedes AMG.

Japan is Honda’s home. The F1 circus will entertain at Suzuka this weekend. Practice sessions are in full swing and it appears as if Lewis Hamilton is wearing his never give up suit.

He has been quickest thus far. We know he is fast. We know he has the tools required to rob pole. We know he is a proven winner. He is the defending World Champion. This, we do not know – Will his luck return at Suzuka?
