Australian V8 Supercars off to a spectacular start

I am a sucker for an engaging battle. If it is not intense, it makes no sense! I should copyright that line! I look forward to what may be referred to as the quintessential race – one by which all other series may be judged.

If you were hibernating in a den somewhere, let me bring you up to speed.  Motorsports teams are either revealing their smart bombs or adjusting fuel maps, to decimate lap records in a month or 2.

Fortunately, some series are off to an early start. The WRC’s brief invasion of Sweden (Feb. 10th -13th  ) has ended. When the metal studded tires were through slicing snow cakes, Ford’s Mikko Hirvonen snatched P1 and sent a deafening message to his opponents.

NASCAR is off the mark as well. The stock car brigade thundered on to one of its most well known tracks, Daytona International Speedway. A brand new, 5-inches thick, traction- infused surface will provide the launch pad for several missions of speed culminating with the Daytona 500 (Sunday -20th ).

Supercars

The Australian V8 Supercars held nothing back for their season opener. Obese, aerodynamic disasters, Australian V8 Supercars pack F1 horsepower and they are notorious for fierce, bruising battles. At a circuit which redefines motor racing venues – the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, Race 2 of the season opener was astounding as it was spectacular! Think of it as Picasso’s interpretation of the Mona Lisa – Beautiful!

Ok, I didn’t watch the entire race. I am not tech-savvy as some, but I do utilize the tools of our global village. A click of the rat (mouse) on YouTube led to – Fantastic Finish James Courtney vs Jason Bright Yas Marina 2011 V8 Supercars at Abu Dhabi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URvFR9Ml0vU&feature=feedf.

That’s what I am talking about!

Circuit Racing

Below the green tarp is a car, no, a machine, no, a weapon. Actually, this race car is more like an Egyptian revolution, packaged between 4 wheels! I am trapped in admiration whenever it sings its song around the track. I will tell you more.
