Circuit Racing: Mark Maloney’s ravishing RX3

My spirit of patriotism is under serious threat. My allegiance grows weary, a victim of unauthorized drone attacks. The resulting discomfort my betrayal has generated is a cause for concern. Caucasians have a name for each malady, but being of a colored persuasion, my condition discerning skills are nonexistent.

I feel somewhat like Alice in Wonderland, tumbling down the rabbit hole, groping in the abyss for any sympathetic vine or root that would provide much needed stability. I am alone, fearless and excited beyond belief!

Round 1 of the 2011 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) will be held this weekend at Dover Raceway (Sunday and Monday) and I am torn in significant ways. I will be cheering as loudly as my vocal chords will allow for David Summerbell Jr and Team Jamaica, but the Judas within, will be in Stealth mode, silently, uncontrollably, immersed in the pulsating trance which the Caribbean’s quintessential race car directs.

The source of my deceit, the mother of my betrayal, the corrupted womb which gave birth to my willingness to trade state secrets for no tangible gain, is a machine that I have possibly stated before, represents all that I have grown to love about race cars. If you have seen it, I know you understand. If you have heard it, greetings comrade, we are disciples of the same faith!

This is what it looked like a few years ago.

Man and Machine

Last Year it wore a brand new suit.

Ravishing is not a word usually used to describe race cars but, this is a beautiful race car! It is now at Dover Raceway relaxing in the salubrious environment.
