Entertainment on a Budget

Author : teriann

As the weekend looms on the horizon it seems that the question that is on everyone’s mind is how can you entertain your friends and family on a small budget?

It goes without saying that in this economy entertaining friends and family takes a back seat to providing for your needs.

However, a part of enjoying life to the fullest is the ability to relax and take comfort in the company of friends and family. So how can you entertain without breaking the bank?

Well, I find that with some advance planning, any budget can sustain entertainment plans. Of course, not everyone has the same ideas about how to spend their free time but I think I have collected a varied list of activities that can be tailored to meet individual interests.
FREE Activities

  • Going to the beach (still some of those free beaches around)
  • Playing Sports (football or cricket)
  • Sight seeing (there are scenic routes to various locations across the island)
  • Learn a new language/skill
  • Join or start a new club/group

Of course not all activities are free but these are just a few ideas of things you can enjoy for under $500.

Activities under $500

  • Rent DVD’S ( have a marathon session of your favourite movies)
  • Go to the Theatre when they are having two for one specials.
  • Have basket parties (everyone brings something for the party)

How do you entertain yourselves in these difficult financial times? Let me hear from you!
