Weekend Specials – Are you cashing in?

Author : teriann

As the weekend approaches, many consumers shudder when they realize once again they have to go shopping. Of course if you plan your shopping trips then you don’t have to spend a lot of money.

The key is to discover which items are on specials at the supermarkets.

Now who has the time or gas money to spend to travel to all the supermarkets to find the lowest price?

Well I have found the solution! I found it in my favourite daily newspaper, The Gleaner.

In the Thursday edition of The Gleaner dated, February 7, 2013, I found an entire spread dedicated to weekend special deals at selected supermarkets.

I eagerly studied the price list and found attractive offers such as hot and spicy mackerel 155g for $49.85 with the larger tins of 425g priced at $ 175.84.

Is tinned mackerel not on your grocery list?

Not to worry, I also found Tulip hand towel 100 sheets for $75.39 and a case of 36 for $2698.20.

If those products identified above are not for you it is still a god idea to use the listing to identify any other products that fits your family’s needs and budget. I found that the items displayed in The Gleaner special for the weekend beginning February 8th, appealed to a variety of households as it advertised tinned products as well as washing soap and other products for the home.

The weekend specials are being offered by Progressive Grocers of Jamaica limited which is a company that represents a group of leading supermarkets. These supermarkets are: Sovereign, Michi Supercenter, Brooklyn, Loshusan and SuperValu.

These advertised deals help consumers to make informed decisions about where to shop and which items are available at a reduced cost. So why not check out these weekend specials?

We certainly need to be wise when spending our money! Let me know if you saw any specials that appeal to you!
