Well it’s that time again!

The time all parents dread and some children look forward to with delight.

Schools all across the island open its doors to welcome the young minds eager to enjoy all that it offers.

So why are parents not excited at this time of year? Well that might have to do with the added strain to the family’s budget due to various back to school costs.  Most parents are just recovering from summer school fees and now have to contend with the costs associated with the beginning of the school year.

By far, the most costly items are textbooks.  The rise of an average of 6% in the cost of textbooks, as reported by the Consumer Affairs Commission, certainly was not welcome news.  True, that percentage does not seem like much but it certainly adds up at the register.

Look out for future posts on money saving tips on back to school items!

How are you managing with back to school costs?

Hopefully all the children get to go to school even if all the books are not purchased and the teachers will cooperate a few weeks in helping and encouraging those who have books to share a bit with class-mates, It is hard after summer school but it is not a surprise that school re-opens in a few days.
Mothers (some) make the child a priority leave the bashment outfits, nails and hair a few weeks, the real suffering moms check with the churches for help, and MIA fathers have a heart these children needs you, they becomes adults (quickly too) Dads in the home make your children a priority before OIB,mistresses, bar,or bashments,

Mothers and fathers doing your do, good luck
handle your business, they grow up fast and remember their childhood well , good or bad.

Good luck to those with school age children
