Are You Terrified To Shop?

Author : teriann

My heart began to race as I stood in line.  I scanned the cart as I wondered what I could return to the shelves. I took a deep breath to steady my frayed nerves before I looked at my bill.  Shopping had now become my personal nightmare.

Remember when shopping used to be fun?  Not anymore.  I am not the only one who feels this way.  I have seen people stand in front of stocked shelves for a long time trying to decide if they really need the item. The current economic squeeze has made everyone tighten their belts.

So what is the solution?  Well, besides eating less, which is really not an option, I have tried bulk shopping. I also use a shopping list. How do you manage your shopping  needs in these economically troubled times? Let me hear from you.

Well I think that food shopping I can deal with. I mean really like you said if we gotta eat we gotta eat. Its the other shopping that i am begining to dread. I could grow roots shopping for makeup for instance. I cant say that I have a great answer to your question but a friend of mine has completely stopped shopping in the stores and now just shops online. It works for her.. maybe it will work for you. Then at least you still take hours to decide if you need something but you are not wasting time because you can shop and cook, or clean, or whatever. Lol.

Terrified shopper you are not alone. Each time I go shopping, I pick up less off the shelves and the bill is higher than the last time. I have done the bulk shopping; wholesale meat shops and Coronation Market… all this hassle to save a buck! I save a few dollars here and there, but wonder if the gas it takes me to drive all around town is really worth it…

A list is always good, along with a budget. Needs have to be distinguished from wants… and all distractions avoided.

But with that said it is hard for everyone.

Shopping on line is a good option for some I guess but you need a credit card and that’s another story.

  4. Every time I come to gleanericonsumer.com there is another exciting post up. A friend of mine was talking to me about this topic a few weeks ago. I think I will send them the url here and see what they say.
