Pink Power! Keeping Abreast!

Author : teriann

I have always thought that cancer was an ugly word.  It brings to mind pain and suffering. Of course, with new treatments available it does not have to be a death sentence.

October is being celebrated as breast cancer awareness month. A pink ribbon highlighting the cause can be seen on display all across the island.

There have been many theories about the cause of breast cancer but one thing all the medical experts agree on is that early detection is the key. Self-examinations play an integral role in early detection.

So this month give the gift of knowledge and encourage the women in your life to be informed about breast cancer. What do you think about this issue?   How many Jamaican women are informed about cancer prevention?

This Jamaica Gleaner online writer hit this right on the head. (ripiree)

I agree with the entire analysis and response to this continued servitude attitude. Even when they come aboard as dignitaries they try to sell the island and its people as the best tourist destination!!!!

It is so unhealthy and evil in this time and age to see our people who claimed they’re previlaged continue to sell out the unprivilaged. Everything is focus around tourisim. When the incident happened with Christoper Coke a few weeks ago all the High Commissoner was securing was tourism not the citizes (Afrikan people) who were losing their lives and livihoods. It was a disgrace and I was very ashamed to see her behaviour.

It’s not surprising to me because they are all agents securing their masters’ interests. I like to refer to them as “houseslaves” sitting at their masters’ feet underneath the table and not at the table making decisions for themselves that will impact their lives.

I hope that we can get it through our thick heads about ‘deh reel deel’of who is really in control. I have sent the article and the writer’s response to many in my network and I’ve asked them to pass it on to others.
