Let’s ban plastic bags!

Stop using plastic bags!
When you go to the supermarket and the cashier reaches for a bag, do you automatically think you are killing the environment?
Well imagine this; plastic bags can last 400 years before they decompose! This means that it is extremely difficult to erase them from our landfills.
Consider too the risk they pose to our marine life. If fish swallow the bags, they will die.
Despite all the risks, many stores and supermarkets continue to offer their customers plastic bags to carry their groceries.
Why not encourage the use of reusable canvas shopping bags? It’s cheaper and better for the environment!

Good idea if the rules would be followed, JAs hate change, prefering the easier ways. When I 1st visited Canada many yrs ago I went to a supermarket check out and saw ppl with totes and boxes packing groceries, guess what I seethed under my breath, called them backwards, and was not receptive to change even though I knew the consequences of our continued uses of plastic bags, containers etc.
In the last 5 yrs I’v matured become more green I have 8 totes that I rotate, but honestly I do get some plastic bags at times
and I eventually place them in the garbage, which will end up in our landfills, seeps out into the oceans damaging our environment, I try to be better, but everyone should I even stopped using hair sprays and aerosel deodarants.
Come on peeps lets try to go green all the way
