It’s not often that persons walk around saying they have enough funds and they don’t need anymore. In fact I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say that.
However when I look around me it does seem as if some people have it figured out. They pay their bills, go on fabulous holidays and are always well dressed. How do they do it? Well it’s all about making the most of what you earn.
Priorities
What’s important to you? For some people it’s important to have their home lavishly decorated, for others it’s all about the great escape and enjoying relaxing vacations or parties while for others wearing designer clothing is a priority.
All those things might not really be necessities such as food but it makes life a little bit more comfortable. We work so hard that it seems as if we are just working to pay the bills and not really having the extra funds to do what we enjoy.
So what do you do when you can’t afford the comforts of life?
Goals
Well first set your goals. After you have identified what you want to accomplish, write it down and place it in a prominent place where you will be sure to see it every day.
The positive reinforcement will help you to visualize that you are going achieve your goals. Next do your research find out how much you need to have in order to be successful.
A Little can be a lot!
Of course the biggest problem still remains of how you will be able to afford it. The answer lies in your outlook. Instead of looking at your goals as one big insurmountable obstacle, you need to take a step back and examine your situation.
How much do you earn and how much do you spend?
It’s important to recognize that even with a humble salary you can save big! The main culprit is finding ways to save as well as sticking to a regular saving plan. Long term saving requires discipline but in the long run it pays off.
There are number of long term saving programmes at credit unions and other financial organizations which allow contributors to save for specific goals. These programmes are an excellent way to save for your dreams without straining your pocket!
So how do you make the most out of a little? Let me hear from you!

I invest in the Jamaican stock market (best way to create wealth), also buy unit trust products as opposed to savings accounts.
