So 2019 is here! It seems like only yesterday that it was 2018. This year I’ve promised myself that this is the year that I will achieve financial success. However, this is not the first time I have made this promise only to fall victim to my own bad spending habits. So what will be different this year?
Realistic Goals
The thing that makes this year different is that I have set more realistic goals. Instead of making elaborate plans and thinking that I can afford luxury items after short bouts of saving, I now think of needs and make long term goals. A lot of my saving plans too often revolved around my wants instead of my needs.
As a result of my new attitude I was able to formulate a list of more readily attainable targets that are in my budget. I also decided to spend less perks such as eating out as that was taking such a big bite out of my budget.
So how can you get financial success this year? Well I have a few tips.
Financial Success
The first step is to make a list of things you want to accomplish this year. This list will serve as a motivation to encourage you to save. Remember to only put items on the list that are essential.
Next you must ensure that your budget is flexible so that there is enough room for emergencies and other contingencies. Some consumers like to display their budget so that they are not tempted to overspend.
Since I can recognize that going certain places triggers my need to shop, I avoid them and this helps me to save my money. So do whatever you need to to avoid your triggers.
So what are you going to do to ensure that you achieve financial success in 2019? Drop me a line below as I would love to hear from you. Happy saving in 2019!
