Recession Scrooge

Author : teriann

Despite all the rosy projections for the season a lot of consumers are feeling the financial pinch.  Many are scaling down their shopping.

I went into a store and the sales person who approached me began a high energy sales pitch.  I was so sorry to see the glaze of disappointment in her eyes when I informed her I was only looking since I had not budgeted for that item.  Everywhere I looked I saw things I wanted but did not need.  I had to walk away so I could survive another year.

The recession has affected retailers too as their stock seems a bit less than last year.  All is not lost however; even though you have to be frugal this season shopping can still be enjoyable.

Why not check ’Curry’ market for some real ‘downtown’ deals?  Also try buying hand crafted items for gifts by getting to know your local artists. Shop wisely this season!

Beautiful hand crafted necklace!

Are you scaling back this year on your celebrations?  Let me hear from you!
