How can you prevent Road Rage?

Author : teriann

A BMW X5 is hit by a passing taxi, in a rage the driver of the BMW shoots at the taxi.

Sounds like a scene from a movie?

Well, it is actually from a news report about an incident that took place in Kingston on July 1, 2011.

It got me thinking about the intense aggression among Jamaican drivers.
Often those drivers seem to be on the verge of destroying everything in their path as they make risky maneuvers through traffic.

So how can you protect yourself from road rage?

If you are involved in an accident it is recommended that you speak with the other driver involved and exchange information.

However, in some instances it might be safer to drive to the nearest police station to report the accident.

How do you deal with aggressive drivers? Let me know!

Jamaicans (70%) walking or driving seem to be in a rage daily, the females R no better than the males, old ppl disabled and pedestrians R abused, wet up when it rains and cussed at,
the break down of morals, kiundness, respect and love in our society contributes to the problem, its so much easier to be kind, pleasant or allow another to go thru, thats only seconds of our time, so sad that we mutilate, undermine, disrespect each other and many will agree with me here, but R U checking yourselves? I try to be courteous, friendly and respectful everyday and I am happy and suffer no hypertention

The best way to deal with aggressive drivers is to chill. The problem with most Jcans is that we feel that we can’t back down from a confrontation. So even when we know the issue isn’t that important we must respond. Just let in the taximan sometimes and ignore the bus driver when him pull out without him indicator. It keeps your blood pressure down and in 20 minutes you won’t even remembe it.

The news of the senseless killing of the youngster Khajeel Mais has left a numbing feeling on my psyche. An innocent life snuffed out because of road rage of a privileged Jamaican gangster, whose security is guaranteed by his beneficence to the powers that be. I cannot fathom the grief that the family of this youngster must endure. A future denied, because of a car bumper being scratched in an minor accident. And to exacerbate this senseless and wanton disregard for this travesty perpetrated by a lunatic, is the seemingly silence and hush-hush manner in which the law enforcement is handling this abhorrence. Gleaning from this said news paper, information is that this
murderer might have absconded his fate, because of help from the same persons who should uphold the law. I do hope that this individual will be made known publicly so he can be apprehended, just like the others who were named and supposedly brought to justice. Just looking at the picture of Khajeel Mais one could sense his demeanor for the academics. A promising youngster who could have contributed to the development of Jamaica is no longer be. My sincere condolence to the family.

When Lord Acton made the statement:”Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”, this is exactly what he was referencing.
Two things that do major damage to our psyche, especially us balck people — money and guns.
When we have them it is a if the world is owned by us.
I am very sure that if that man did not have the money and the gun, he would not have acted in the way he did. I have no problem in having them both, but before we get them we should be taken through a series a training (acculturation) so that we will know how to handle matters that would cause us to fly off the edge.
I hope the person who killed that youngman, when caught, is never allowed to see the outside world again.

This mindless creature had a weapon he should never had, and it appears as usual the highfalutin law is protecting his name and identity,Oh well he lives above Liguanea; this is CAPITAL MURDER not an accident and Y was a Canadian citizen holder of a glock in JA as the paper stated.
To the Mais family I say “We may not lord thy purposesee, buy all is well thats done by thee”

The man did what he did becuz he knew it was (next to) impossible for anyone in the direction of the taxi to shoot back at him. Yup!! You want to see road rage come to a screeching halt? Do what polite societies do. Do what Smith and Wesson did.

  16. Murdy says:

These are just the symptoms of a much larger problem.
